    Challenges/needs

With an increasing number of international students taking MBA courses in Tsinghua University, and the emergence of Chinese students taking IMBA course, the School of Economics and Management needed a program that could support students’ personal development in addition to the traditional MBA study.

    Solution

Metizo CEO and senior mentor Dr. Bob Aubrey, has been delivering a “Personal Development in a Global Workplace” course in Tsinghua MBA since 2003. This is the first course in career development for MBA students in China that counts towards academic credits. Together with the other two Metizo senior mentors, Dr. Frank Gallo and Ms. Xie Yi, this course has been running successfully for 6 years.

    Outcomes

    • Impact on students

The final essay of this course is the Personal Enterprise Plan, which is a strategy that helps students match aspirations and strengths with the opportunities in the global workplace. This PEP helps students construct a feasible development plan in the real world, which not maximizes their own human capital but also help them define their own success criteria.
